These terms are the agreement between you and V. Alexander Mechanical Inc. for the use of VA Trade School. By using the app you accept them.
Read this part if you read nothing else. VA Trade School is study material. It is not the plumbing code, and it is not a substitute for the current code book, your training provider, or a qualified inspector. Always verify against the current National Plumbing Code and BC Building Code before you rely on anything for real work.
What the app is
Exam preparation for BC plumbing certification: lessons, practice questions, calculators, reference material and study tools. We work to keep the content accurate and current, but codes change and errors happen. We do not guarantee that the content is complete, current or error-free, and we do not guarantee that using it will help you pass any exam.
No professional advice
Nothing in the app is engineering, legal, or code-compliance advice. Plumbing work in British Columbia must be performed by appropriately certified people and inspected by the authority having jurisdiction. You are responsible for the work you do.
Your account
Keep your account details to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share paid access with other people. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Purchases and refunds
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars and payments are handled by Stripe. Paid access is for one person.
Refunds: if the app is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. After 14 days refunds are at our discretion.
We may change prices for future purchases. Anything you have already bought is not affected.
Community rules
The community section is for tradespeople helping each other. When you post, you agree to keep it civil and on topic. There is no tolerance for harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, spam, advertising, or posting other people’s personal information.
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us permission to display it in the app. We may remove any post and suspend any account for any breach of these rules, without notice. Use the flag control to report content that breaks them — we review reports and act within 24 hours.
Acceptable use
Do not copy, resell or redistribute the course content. Do not scrape the app, attempt to bypass payment, attack the service, or use automated tools to extract questions in bulk.
Our content
The lessons, questions, calculators and design are owned by V. Alexander Mechanical Inc. Code text and tables referenced in the app remain the property of their publishers. Your paid access is a personal licence to use the material for your own study — not a transfer of ownership.
Availability
We aim to keep the app running but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we permanently shut down a paid service, we will refund the unused portion of any recent purchase.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including failed exams, lost work, or the cost of remedial plumbing work. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under BC law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of British Columbia.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app, and continuing to use it means you accept the updated version.
